Optrix, designer of rugged action sports video cases for iPhones, unveils the XD5 a wide-angle camera case for iPhone 5 capable of withstanding all conditions, including earth shattering drops and drenching downpours while still delivering superior video capturing capabilities and access to all controls.

Optrix’s XD5 camera case is made with a thinner, lighter and stronger body when compared to the XD Sports Case, but possesses a higher waterproof rating. In addition, the XD5 incorporates a second door to access charging connectors and headphone jack, has an interchangeable lens system and can be removed from the mounting system.

“Optrix delivered the industry’s first action camera case for iPhone 4/4S and we are now unveiling the first for iPhone 5,” said John Willenborg, founder of Optrix. “Our new line of products reinforces our commitment to providing video capturing solutions that meet and exceed the needs of every extreme athlete.”

Fitting the iPhone 5 like a glove, this redesigned case is leaner, lighter and stronger. It also comes with a waterproof rating of up to 15 feet. The phone’s 1080p HD is captured through a three layer, all glass, wide-angle lens. The kit includes the ultra-rugged main housing, iPhone 5 sled, 2 mounts (curved and flat) and the quick release rail system to securely mount the XD5 just about anywhere.

The Optrix XD Sport Mount for iPhone 5, iPhone 4/4S and iPod Touch through the Optrix UK distributor www.Xeniahd.com. In addtion to the XD Sport Mount, Optrix has also launched a series of video recording apps designed to take sports filming to another level, allowing users to measure lay speed, g-force, lap-time and more right onto their videos. The XD5 is available for pre-order now at £89.95 (RRP) to include delivery and will ship the second week in February 2013.
