The Photography Show has confirmed the line-up for the Live Stage at The Photography Show 2018, taking place at the NEC Birmingham from 17-20 March.

The Live Stage will host an action-packed programme; from light painting and mastering lighting, to beauty portraits and sports photography. Also featured, will be eye-catching sessions including dramatic flour photography, exploding liquids and the returning favourite, Creative Catwalk, crafted by SFX specialist makeup artists and models and perfect for testing different techniques. Visitors are advised to bring their cameras.

Tina Eisen’s live beauty photography demonstration will teach both amateurs and pros how to create the perfect beauty shot; source the right team members and equipment, and how to avoid common mistakes on a shoot.

Renowned commercial and art photographer David Lund will demonstrate how to capture spectacular shots of liquid in motion using air pistons to manipulate and propel paint, highlighting a variety of techniques to create remarkable effects that visitors can recreate at home.

Jakob Gronkjaer will show visitors how to set their shots on fire, with a sprinkling of flour, with no risk of setting off the smoke detectors! Jakob will show off his unusual methods, as well as discussing practical considerations around a flour shoot: clothing, environment, encouraging subject participation and how to make use of existing lighting to create magnificent imagery.

Visitors can join Jonathan Knowles as he delves into the photographic technique of light painting and how it can be used as a primary light source for a range of subjects in a studio setting.

Never miss a shot with reliable gear and specialised techniques that won’t let you down in the heat of the game; award-winning photographer Jason Lanier, will teach the audience how to capture sports and dance images with beautiful results.

Portraiture is often one of the trickiest genres to get right; and those wanting to brush up their skills at The Photography Show can get the low-down from Hannah Couzens on capturing profile portraits successfully, get tips on how to nail their Speedlight portraits with Andrew Appleton, learn about studio styling and prop use for creating amazing portraits (Gavin Hoey), and discover how to produce arresting portraits using a single light source with Olympus Ambassador, Damian McGillicuddy.

Other speakers include Glyn Davis, Claire Harper and Phill Fisher, and Steven Clarey, to name a few.

All Live Stage sessions are included in the show entry ticket fee and will take place across all four days of the show (17-20 March 2018).
