Kodak Alaris introduces new tech upgrades and a new experience for consumers into the third version of the new KODAK MOMENTS App; visual storytelling that transforms important photos into rich stories worth sharing
Ever since Kodak Alaris stated their intentions to develop their mobile technologies, way back during Photokina 2014, we’ve watched with keen interest to see the developments.
Launching the first iteration of the KODAK MOMENTS app, based on a vast amount of strong research, the potential number of consumers in the mobile device market – and prime for marketing printing services too – appeared to be vast, and coupled with the strong-and-synonymous-with-photography Kodak branding, we shared in the company’s optimism.
In fact, it is this research that seems to give Kodak Alaris an edge, when it comes to further development of their app technology. So much so that they have recently opened a new talent pool in Silicon Valley to deliver marketing leading mobile innovation based on the research. The brand new team, dedicated to the development of the KODAK MOMENTS App in San Francisco, has been established to enable the company to build closer relationships with Apple & Google and to identify new trends and technologies that can help to innovate in retail printing. These new processes are being used to speed up delivery times to market and the company have already seen a fourfold increase in app updates.
The new KODAK MOMENTS App
A number of new functions within the new version of the app are present, as a direct result of both the company’s research and the subsequent development team’s expertise, bringing these benefits to the app, and thereon, to the consumer and retail channel.

It showed that 65 percent of the participants felt that social media can be ‘superficial’, and 64 percent voiced concerns about their family’s privacy on social media in general. With the UK leading the way for greater shopping convenience, through Home Delivery and Click & Collect services, it’s no surprise that both options are catered for within the KODAK MOMENTS App. Over 54% of UK shoppers have tried click & collect in the past 12 months, so enabling consumers to collect their personalised print product from the app on the same day connects perfectly into this growing shopping trend. Interestingly we are seeing higher order values from Click & Collect orders, compared to this in-store, which is most likely down to less time pressure in choosing photos.

Finally, the third pathway offers a home delivery option for those consumers who want the ultimate convenience but are prepared to wait a few days.
